ACTKA Piano Competition 2018 Finals

Our annual piano competition is here again and registration is now open!

ACTKA Piano Comp REGISTRATION FORM 2018

WHEN & WHERE

Sunday December 2nd from 2:00pm to 6:30pm

Wesley Music Centre, National Circuit, Forrest

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to all piano students living in the ACT and regional NSW south of and including Wollongong who are no older than 20 years of age (Dec 2 2018)

The Competition will be run across three levels: (Grades refer to AMEB or equivalent)

Lower Intermediate: up to and including Grade 4

Intermediate Advanced: Grade 5 – Grade 7

 Advanced: Grade 8 and above

REQUIREMENTS

All entrants are required to present two pieces at the appropriate level:

*A work or movement from a work of the Classical Period

*A work by an Australian composer (Either Australian-born or having lived and worked in Australia for a significant period – if unsure, contact ACTKA)

The maximum total duration of the two pieces will be:

Lower Intermediate- 8 minutes

Intermediate – 12 minutes

Intermediate Advanced- 15 minutes

The adjudicator for the finals will be Jeanell Carrigan.

 

Please note that the heats of the competition will be held on Sunday 11th November (9:00am– 5:00pm) in the music block at Canberra Girls Grammar School.

The adjudicator for the competition heats will be Bernadette Harvey

ENTRY FEES

Lower Intermediate Intermediate AdvancedMembers – $10 Members – $15 Members – $20

Non-members – $20 Non-members – $25 Non-members – $30
