ACTKA PIANO COMPETITION
September 16th 2023After a highly competitive 2022 Competition showcasing ACT’s most outstanding student pianists, we are pleased to announce details for ACTKA’s 2023 Piano Competition. This year, performer, educator and researcher, Jeanell Carrigan, will be joining us as our adjudicator.

The competition will showcase the region’s most outstanding young pianists and present a varied program of Australian and other repertoire across four levels:
Elementary (AMEB Preliminary to Grade 3 equivalent)
Lower Intermediate (AMEB Grade 4 – 6 equivalent)
Intermediate (AMEB Grades 7 & 8 equivalent)
Advanced (AMEB Certificate equivalent and above)
WHEN: Saturday, September 16, 2023
WHERE: Wesley Uniting Church, 20-22 National Circuit, Forrest, ACT
ELIGIBILITY: All pianists living in the ACT and regional NSW south of, and including, Wollongong who are no older than 21 years of age (as of 31st December 2023).
REPERTOIRE: Entrants are required to present a piece by an Australian composer and one own choice piece of contrasting style. Maximum total time limits are as follows:
Elementary: 8 mins
Lower intermediate: 8 mins
Intermediate: 10 mins
Advanced: 15 mins
A range of cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, depending on the competition level.
